This page explains how to delete your One VTU account and the data linked to it. See our Privacy Policy for full detail.
How deletion works
Deletion is a request that we carry out by hand. There is no button that erases the account on the spot, because we check that the request came from the account holder before anything is removed. Every request is completed within 30 days.
How to ask for it
From inside the app
- Open One VTU.
- Go to the Profile tab.
- Tap Delete my account, then Open form.
- Fill in the form and submit it.
Opening the form deletes nothing on its own. Only a form you have submitted starts the process.
Without the app
The same form is here: request account deletion. Use the email address your account is registered with, and add your USN if you have it, so we can find the right record.
Or write to us
Email support@onevtu.in from the address registered to your account, with the subject line "Delete my account". Include your registered email and, if you can, your USN.
What happens after you ask
- We confirm that we have your request.
- We match it to the account it names.
- We delete the account and its data, and tell you when it is done — within 30 days, and usually much sooner.
If you change your mind before it is done, email us and we will stop the request.
What gets deleted
- Your profile: name, email address, USN, college, branch, scheme, semester, batch year and any SGPA or CGPA figures you entered
- Every Student Marketplace listing you posted, and all images attached to them
- Your credit wallet balance
- Your authentication record, so the account can no longer sign in
What is kept, and for how long
- Referral and credit transaction history is kept in a minimal, de-identified form. It no longer identifies you, and exists only to stop the same referral reward being claimed repeatedly.
Data you must remove yourself
- Data on your device — attendance, flashcards, saved results, chat history and reminders are stored locally. Uninstall the app, or go to Android Settings, Apps, One VTU, Storage, Clear data.
- Your Google Drive backup — it lives in your own Drive, so only you can remove it. Use the backup screen in the app, or revoke access at myaccount.google.com/permissions and delete hidden app data from Google Drive settings.
- Data held by your AI provider — prompts you sent to Gemini, OpenRouter or Groq are governed by that provider retention policy. Use their controls.
