GATE Question Papers
Branch-wise GATE papers for students preparing early.
Twenty years of papers, and the one you actually need
GATE publishes its question papers after every exam, but it publishes them a paper at a time and a year at a time. Working out which of the thirty-odd papers from 2016 is yours, and then finding it again next month, is a small job that nobody should have to do twice.
This screen holds 887 paper slots covering 52 branch codes across the twenty years from 2007 to 2026 — Aeronautical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Ceramics and Cement Technology, and the rest. It opens on your branch, and the years run newest first, so the paper you want is usually the first row you see.
What is in a slot, and what is not
Every one of those 887 slots holds the question paper itself. 344 of them also hold the official answer key, where one has been published. That is the whole of it: a paper, and sometimes the key that goes with it.
You may have seen a "Solved Papers" label elsewhere in the app. Nothing is filed under it. GATE does not publish worked solutions — it publishes an answer key, which is a grid of option letters and no more. A key tells you what the right answer was; it never tells you why. Relabelling a key as a solution would be the sort of small lie that costs a student an evening.
Two sessions in a day, and years that are thinner than others
Since GATE moved to computer-based testing in 2014, most papers have been run in more than one session on the same day, and the sessions use different papers. Both are here, under a session picker, because a session 1 paper is not the same practice as a session 2 paper. 263 of the 887 slots hold more than one file.
Older years hold fewer papers than recent ones — 41 in 2007 against 52 in each of the last three years. What a year shows is exactly what exists for that year, and a year with nothing at all is left off the list rather than shown empty.
Papers you have synced are papers the AI can answer from
GATE papers are indexed the same way your syllabus is, so once they are synced you can put a question to the AI Professor and have it answer from the paper rather than from the open web. Answer keys are deliberately left out of that index: a grid of option letters costs an embedding and answers nothing.
The papers open in the app's own viewer, the screen has branch and year filters and pull to refresh, and your branch is taken from your profile — or from the branch code inside your USN if the profile does not say.
A separate GATE section with year-wise papers for your branch, kept apart from your semester material so your preparation stays organised.
